Maternity Preparation Guide

Here is some information on what to bring for your maternity photoshoot:

Your wardrobe should be free of logos, pictures and writing.

Must Haves/Must Bring

– Please bring at least 1 beautiful matching Bra and knickers set

– Strapless Bra (white or beige if possible)

– White, Beige and Black Undies

– Black and White Bra (make sure they are not maternity bras as they do not look nice in photos)

– 1-2 Nice fitted dresses to show off your belly. Do not bring loose fitted dresses we want the focus to be on your belly.

Outfit Ideas for her

Please ensure that you bring the top items above in the Must have section. I have a variety of maternity dresses and outfits available for you to use during your session so dont worry if you dont have much to bring along clothes wise. These special dresses are made especially for photography and will look great in your photos. Fitted and cropped tops are great for showing off your belly also. As well as off the shoulder tops look gorgeous too.

Outfit Ideas for him

Try to coordinate with each other.  Jeans/pants and nice plain shirts can look fantastic. Also be sure to bring plain T-shirts in white, grey or light colours and please avoid any logos as they don’t look nice in photos.

Outfit Ideas for children

They should coordinate with you as well and have simple outfits. White dress for the girls or jeans and a plain white/cream/light pink top with no logo. A nice patterned shirt or plain white t shirt/polo shirt and jeans/shorts for the boys. Girls look beautiful in white and lace dresses.  Make sure their eyes, nose, fingernails are clean.

Hair & Make Up

Make -up should be classic and clean. However your foundation can be quite thick as this photographs well and helps me to smooth out your skin in post-processing.  Finger and toenails groomed. Lotion and lip balm will help with close-ups.

Hair the same – loose is best. Have your hair either straightened or curled/waved depending on your style. We can put it up to suit a shot at a later time if needed, so make sure you bring hair ties and bobby pins.
